For flipping and pitching I want 7' heavy action rod. I want to be able to turn the fish and get her coming my way. Always buy the best rod and reel you can afford. They will all allow you to catch fish. I am cheap so I use 20lb Masons Basson mono. The lures I like to flip are jigs ,tubes ,creature baits and worms.

Falcon Lowrider 6-1610, that's a MH 6'10" rod. I currently have a Revo SX HS on mine with 50 pound power pro. I usually flip a baby brush hog or a jig, most often the bitsy bug.

I am supprised how many people here stated thelat they use braid around docks. To me braid around docks and rocks is the biggest no no. Just my opinion so please don't be offended. I have learned over the years that braid is no match for a dock pole or being bumped into the rocks. I fish braid exclusively exept for these situations. I would rather have 10# mono than 100# braid on any dock!!!
