The '04 Vintage is outstanding.AND will age wonderfully, if you are disciplined enough to cellar it. lol

Nut, we found a Merlot by Smoking Loon we can't get enough of. Try it and let me know what you think.

Hey RDL,
Sebastiani and Sons have been making great wines for a long time.
Their winery is worth a trip to Sonoma, Ca. It's about the most beautiful tasting room that I have been in, in all of California.

The old Sebastiani label was sold off to Canandaigua and later became "Heritage".

Nut...been to Sonoma and visited Sebastiani and also Ravenswood...both nice stops...but actually spent much more time in Napa. Favorite stop in Napa is Vi Sattui...hands down...but have been to quite a few wineries in two trips to SF/Napa...

Hey HR,
Yes, I remember you talking about your visits earlier. It has been a few years since I have been out there. The last trip was with Icon Estates and we had a great time. After visits to Franciscan and Estancia, we crossed the mountain ( Mt. Veeder was cancelled due to previous heavy rains )into Sonoma and visited Simi, Ravenswood and Sebastiani in the city of Sonoma.

The remarkable difference to me was the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of Sonoma, as opposed to the nervous and tight demeanor of the folks in Napa. Of course, as distributors we were treated wonderfully everywhere. But you can really let your hair down, so to speak in Sonoma and the wines now ( probably not true 20 years ago) in Sonoma rival what's being grown across the Mayacamas, in Napa.

Give me a shout next time you plan a trip out there, HR.
Maybe I can set you up with a lunch or dinner.

Hey Spag,
Glad you liked it.
Apparently the Lib School Cab is really good also.
We sold 20,000 cases in Texas last year to lead the nation.

Texans are beginning to discover Cabs now, as well as Merlot.

I've really gotten into Shiraz and Syrahs lately. Screaming Jack Syrah is my best find so far. Love it.

Hardrain, you know you can join V. Sattui wine of the month club and get your favorites every month? I enjoyed the V.S. 2005 Sierra Foothills Pettit Syrah tonight. Very nice. I've been to their winery twice, April 07 being the last. I know what you mean about their winery, Italian deli and you cant beat it. Join their club and get extra perks when you visit. Different levels of wines, different costs.

Thanks Mark...may look into that. It is really a cool place isn't it. The deli and the wine tasting along with lunch on the grounds is hard to beat...
