Fab and I took my new rig out yesterday to walk thru the SMARTCRAFT calibration and otherwise sea trial my new Triton 2486 WA, Verado 250, 151 gals. Will make those long runs offshore more comfortable. Liteliner and Offshoreman were great partners last year. Message me if you want to share fuel or buddy boat, I ususally go out of Freeport because of closer proximity than Port A. Have been off the forum a long time feels good to be back, spring right around the corner

Your right bum, there is no two ways about it. For now I don't have it. I have Sea Tow, a new engine, spare battery and prop, comprehensive ditch bag with handheld GPS and VHF, food, water etc and I take my chances. If I were offshore 2-3 days a week I would definitely have it. I get offshore occasionally and try to make sure she is well serviced and checked before going out.

What worries me more is the whole Verado/Smartcraft Digital throttle system-one electronic problem and I could be down for the count.

Did you see Spanish Fly last weekend?
Jose Wejebe took a 39' SeaVee from Miami to Isla Mujeres, Mex.
that boat had 4, 300hp smartcraft Verado's on it. no electronic prob's on the nearly 900 nm. round trip.
If you wanted to help protect against that, buy the diag. program & laptop/pcm patch cable from Mercury, bring that & a multi-meter w/ you offshore.
Oh, & ALWAYS make sure you have a good mechanic on board!
(hint?)
fine ride, amigo. what model is the lowrance? sure looks good
mounted in the dash.

Hey Brian, is Spanish Fly a TV show? What channel? Don't get me wrong the Verado rocks, it just that not having cables connecting everything is a little scary, I am old school.
I will start fishing offshore real soon Brian and would love to have you aboard. I will keep you posted
Lowrance is 113C HD. Thanks man, see you soon.

Jeff, very nice looking boat!! I may stick my grubby paw in the air wanting to go fishing ... I'll fill the tank, since you're paying for the boat.

In that middle pic, where are those bridge supports/piers? Is that cutting across lake dallas?

Buddy boating sounds like a good idea, whenever you are ready, let me know. I have been talking to liteliner about buddy boating this coming year also and if we are ever short on people, we can always load up in one boat. I too have a triton and am always looking to get offshore. Thing is, I am not too fond of heading 60 miles out by myself. We went 52 miles out last year and I am looking forward to doing it again. HOpe to see you guys on the water

Piepunch sounds like a great plan. I especially need/want buddy boat with single engine config.
To you guys that posted i will send you a message soon. I am looking for the first available and good conditions weekend to get out there, probably March.
Zeek good to hear from you, careful what you commit to \:\)
Filling the tank runs close to $500!!!!!
We can all split gas etc
Bring it on!!!
