Addictive Fishing with Capt. Blair Wiggins. They even devoted 3 or 4 shows this season to Texas guides and fisheries.

I like watching the Redfish Cup & BassMaster's Tourny's bcause I like to fish tournaments and you can learn alot about fishing them by watching the pros.
Though I do alot of salt fishing, my main thing is starting to be bass, so I have to pick those TV shows like "Scot Martin Challenge" "BassCenter" and "Day on the Lake"

I don't get to watch fishing shows very often, don't have cable or sattelite.
When I do get to watch, I really enjoy the C&R shark fishing tournament series.
One thing I do find interesting after reading all the resposes that have been made, fishermen seem to enjoy Tred Barta, while most hunters can't stand him. JMO.

Most people who are avid hunters/fishers cant stand Barta. When I say avid, I guess I mean people who are in the outdoors on a regular basis (daily or weekly).
I am included in this list, as my ranch is less than 10 min. from my house, and I live on the coast. To us, Barta is a joke and brings disrespect to the lifestyle with his foolish ways. He is the kinda guy that gives bleeding heart types fuel for their fire. He makes hunting a fishing look almost ridiculous is my opinion.
Furthermore, I think that alot of the stuff that he does is very dangerous. I hope people dont think that his way is the right way and try and follow his example. Trust me, it is not smart or safe to take a small boat out alone into dangerous seas for a challenge.
Im not saying that Barta is not a good person, and I do believe he has great enthusiasm for the outdoors, but I just think that he makes everyone look a little crazy. Hunters, and sometimes fishers, get a bad stereotype already from a portion of the population and Bartas antics dont help.

he might go a lil over the top..but the whole point of hunting in the first place is to get that rush of excitement in a safe respectable way..if tred barta decides that he needs to use wooden arrows that he makes and uses a long bow and needs to get very close to the game hes after...think of the rush...it has to be way greater thaan standard hunting methods...if that upsets people then i sense prolly a little jealousy goin round heeyuh..

I have only watched his shows a couple of times, and have never beeen real impressed.
My problem however is that I am not real impressed by any of the TV Outdoor personalities, simply because I firmly believe that many folks could do just as good or better job, except they don't fit the "Type" that the sponsors are looking for.
Thru my job at the zoo, I had several opportunities to be on local tv and a couple of chances to be on national tv.
To me it was just part of the job that day, and the folks involved with doing the filming, just live in their own little world of reality. JMO.

I have no problem with stalking up close, but he just acts like an idiot. Again, I do give it up that he is enthusiastic, but all the hoopla that he does is just plain ridiculous. For a person tuning in that does not know of the outdoors, or is against hunting or fishing, Barta would make us look foolish or barbaric. The first time I saw Barta beating the living hell out of a tuna I was stunned.
Also, Barta does many things that are in no way safe and just plain stupid. I watched one episode where he took a boat out by himself onto the open seas during crazy wheather. He did this for a rush and bcause it was the, quote, "Hard way." It was realy stupid and he could have wound up dead. I hope he didnt give anyone ideas.
Bottom line, Barta is an idiot. I too stalk deer, brave the elements, and go to far extents to get in the right fishing hole or game path; but I dont try and act like Conan the Barbarian while I do it. He is a city slicker that likes to play frontiersman and he gives us all a bad name. My mom still thinks that I go apepoop on fish that I catch, beating them to a bloody pulp, because she caught a Barta show one morning. Ridiculous!!
