Ronnie, you are supposed to keep the rats out of it... try some mouse traps and bait them with hardtails

Hi folks, just an update to all that might be interested in fishing Seis Tuna. There are currently 4 spots open for Seis Tuna, all on the Pelican. jt2hunt has expressed an interest in taking several spots but until we know 100% on the open spots being bought we will try to find buyers for these spots. Cost is $492 per spot, plus a fuel surcharge currently around $1,400 a boat or around $112 per person. Rough total will be around $604 before tipping. All DSH 48 hour charters are running this same fuel surcharge based on the wholesale cost of diesel. If interested, please call us at (210)215-3877 or email us at too@outdoorstexas.com Willie

Note that the fuel surcharge will be the sole responsibility of the respondant. I am only referring to the primary cost (the $492 part). Thanks, Darrel.

Just a quick TFF note for everyone not really working, as we also have sent an email to everyone. We talked to DSH today. It is forecast to be rough through early Friday. We will talk to them again on Wednesday to see if the forecast holds for falling seas as is currently forecast. It looks like things will smooth out and there will be a good window for later Friday through Sunday. However we want to know if everyone can move the departure date to Saturday-Mopnday if the forecast for then is a whole lot better. If so, please post up here or email us. Here are the options based on the forecast, but remember we will have a better idea on Wednesday on what we can decide on. 1. Go out Friday morning if the seas are still forecast to fall in the afternoon and lay down through the weekend. Normal operation of fishing the spars at night and deep drop on Saturday. It would be a bit bumpy on the way out, but hopefully smooth out during the day and on through the trip. 2. Move the departure time back to mid-morning Friday and get to the Spars a bit later, probably after dark, and tuna fish and deep drop and fish later on Saturday night, getting back later in the morning/afternoon on Sunday. Folks would still get the same amount of night tuna fishing, but possibly miss the evening trolling on Friday, but still troll Saturday evening. 3. Move the departure date to Saturday morning and fish the normal procedure; get there late afternoon, troll a bit, tuna after dark, deep drop Sunday, fish for tuna until time to leave to get back to the dock after 48 hours. Again, everyone please let us know if the Saturday option works for you. Stay tuned for Wednesday, we are hopeful there will be a really nice window later Friday through Monday. Also, there are still a few spots that are looking to be sold, if this weather window does happen as it looks like it will, there should be some very good tuna fishing this weekend. Email us at too@outdoorstexas.com or call us at (210)215-3877 if you want to jump on board. Cost will be $594 total and that includes the fuel surcharge.

I'm also open for any of the alternatives, would prefer waiting to leave if the weather looks like it will be better.
Also, does anyone leaving from Fort Worth have room for me to ride down with them?

rabidus. I am still going down there. You are still welcome to ride with me. I am in for whatever makes the fishing more confortable. I would rather take a arse chewing for the workmissed, than take a pounding on the open seas. If we make the later weather window. I will be leaving after work on Friday. So yo might ride down with FB, and you can ride back with me on monday.

Also, does anyone leaving from Fort Worth have room for me to ride down with them? Hey Bill, I've got an O.T.I. 7' spinning rod that I can loan to you for your top water rig, but you'll need a spinning reel. Let me know if you want it.

If we go Saturday - Monday, I'm in! I haven't been able to sell my spot so this change works perfect for me!
A few questions:
Is anyone interested in sharing cost for a room Friday?
What size coolers are we allowed to bring on the Pelican?
Are there enough rod holders or should we bring milk crates w/ rod holders?
Where are we meeting Friday night for foods/drinks?
If anyone needs a ride, I'm departing from Austin Friday after lunch.

The Saturday / Sunday fishing sounds better to me as well.
I have no desire to mess with high winds......
