I'm torn between 3 reels.

The Shimano Chronarch
The Quantum Tour Edition PT Burner
The Abu Garica Revo STX

which is the best reel? Im going to use it mainly for inshore applications..

I like expensive reels as much as the next guy, but salt water is going to ruin whatever you get. If I were you, I'd consider a Curado. You may even be able to pick up one of the old green ones for less than $65.

Shimano Core - $300
Shimano Mg - $200ish via online retailers
Revo Inshore - $170 (ebay)
Shimano Curado - Shimano Rebate $50 off.

Chronarch only if I couldn't get a deal on a Curado.

My choice for heavy topwaters is the Green Curado CU200, with an upgraded drag and bearings. Under $100 only on Ebay or thru classifides.

Well the Chronarch is just a smidge smoother..

I'd get my hands on that new REVO INSHORE, it's a pure BEAST! 20+ pounds of drag, deep spool, casts a mile. Shimano has nothing on it. Nothing!

Well.. ok unless you compare the REVO to a TE but that's not a fair comparison.

Oustide, the Chronarch your other choices suck. I mean that. \:\) Inshore man! Inshore! That's the future!

I realize that! But that is all the academy i work at has!!! As much as I want the Revo inshore, we dont have it!! So you think the Chronarch is the best choice?

HTX?

STX you mean?

.. and ooo I don't know because the STX is a freshwater reel. The inshore was designed to be more corrosion resistant. Besides they are to sensitive the the salinity in our bays and require booku maint.

My Quatom die everytime I surf fish. Friends Simano seems to hold up much better. Wash them off with tap water after each use.

Citica 200DSV (be sure it is the DSV) $119 and $30 rebate = $89.
The DSV is made for salt water.

I prefer my Abu 6400 c with 200 yds of 20 lb . Course you can buy the CADILLACS but I am happy with my gear.
