Where is a good place to take the youngsters fishing around the Round Rock, Georgetown area. Looking for bank fishing opportunities (no boat yet).

Thanks in advance,

Paul

95AGGIE have you looked at Lake Georgetown? I have not fished it but the COE map shows to a Russell Park off of 262. There is also Jim Hogg Park and Cedar Breaks Park I think they are primarily campgrounds. Ther is also Tejas Park on the San Gabriel River FM 3405 to CR 260 I don't know anything about it other than picnic and hiking trails. http://www.swf-wc.usace.army.mil/georgetown/.

There is also granger lake another COE lake. Decker (Walter E. Long) is on the east side of Austin.

95Aggie, There are a couple small lakes (ponds) in Round Rock and Pflugerville that are pretty good for bank fishing. The only boats allowed on them are canoe or kyak.
Here is a link to the Austin Kyak Boards map section. Look under the Round Rock and Pflugerville lakes for maps. And it has other lakes in the area.

Good Luck, If there is anything else I can help you with let me know, just leave me a PM.

Emmett
