just curious because i had (the infamous bad OMC motor that helped them go under, i.e the FICHT motor).

how does a guy like me who was snake bit, ever buy a Evinrude/Johnson motor? i am asking because i am very very very po'd and would never at this moment ever buy another motor but a Merc or yamaha.......?

Jed, you were only one of many that got caught in that squeeze. It had nothing to do with the present company, (BRP). There were business decisions made and they had to draw the line somewhere.

I have never owned anything other than an OMC, now BRP. I have had my share of problems but have never had a problem getting them resolved.

It is a matter of choice and I feel that the Evinrude E-TECH is the best motor out there. My new boat will have one on it. The people at BRP are great to work with and if you have a good dealer the service can't be beat.

I have also never driven anything other than a GMC product, but I just bought a Fork F-150 and am very satisfied. There are some good products in every brand you buy and there are some bad. You can't judge every apple because of one rotten one.

Want to buy my boat? It still has 2 years warranty. Repairs won't cost you anything for that long.

The only thing you have to worry about today’s ETEC is that it is so quite that sometimes you wonder if you have cranked the engine, especially if you are around others. If everyone had the new Evinrude then I could hear the announcer at tournaments calling out boat numbers at take off. Hey you will like the gas mileage plus the lack of emissions. Don’t compare the new BRP to the old OMC, if you do you will miss out on Micheals great buy he has.

Don't know anybody for the Fat Boy but might work a trade for the Ranger

I bought a Ranger in 1998 with the Johnson 150 Ficht motor and have never had one problem with it. Did all the factory upgrades and it still runs like a champ today.

You might want to lower price. Six months without selling might tell you something. I have been trying to sell Z19 with same setup $35,500 no takers. So I have decided to enjoy boat. Good Luck.

I think the problem was with the 200 HP motors and that problem was resolved when the company was taken over by BP. The new E-Tech is an awesome motor from what I understand.
