My buddy and I plan a fishing trip each year. So far we have gone saltwater fishing, floated down the Cumberland River, and fished Beaver Lake for big stripers. We are in the process of planning another trip and looking for ideas. Not looking at specific species - we just want to experience something different.

Here's our specs.
- we need to be able to drive to the location in one day from Grand Saline, Tx. We usually try to do this trip in 3 days - drive one day, fish one day and drive home the last day.
- Budget is $500-$700.

Any suggestions?

Wildone,

Would you consider staying a little closer to home and forcing yourself to fish for two days instead of one? \:\) We fish on Richland Chambers located between Corsicana & Palestine, and could offer up a couple of thoughts for your consideration. For the budget you described, we offer a "Package" of a Fishing Trip for Two, Overnite in a Cabin at Fisherman's Point Marina, and Lunch at the Marina Restaurant. This is at a $299 cost. The Trip is a Half Day Trip.

If you could fish sometime from Mid-March thru April, you could get in on some normally great Crappie, White Bass & Hybrid Striper action. For $598, you could do a Crappie Trip one outing, and a White/Hybrid the next.

Oh yea, cut down on the driving as you could come in one afternoon, fish two days and drive back after fishing on the second day. I'm guessing you're around three hours from RC.

Hopefully you could fish on a Weekday as our regular customers book our Saturdays several months in advance, and we're booked with both boats from Mid-March thru April already on the Weekends. We've got lots of Weekdays we need to fill.

If this is of interest, check us out on our website at http://www.gonefishin.biz or give us a call at 903-389-4117.

Thanks and Good Luck!

If you don't mind driving a full day, I would recommend taking a float trip down the White River out of Bull Shoals, AR. Website is http://www.bullshoalslakeboatdock.com/fish.html .

Go to CADDO!! You might not catch a hige number of fish (it is possible) but the experience of this lake will stay with you always. I also do the Ouchita and Texoma trips and they are great too but Caddo by far is my favorite trip.
