I figured I would get the best response from folks in this group. I currently have a LXC 15MT that has been acting goofy, it is 4 years old. I am looking to buy the LCX 27 for the console and also the 520 for the bow.

How does the upgrade program work through Lowrance?

Does the old unit have to be sent back to them since they no longer service this model?

How can the 2 above mentioned be networked together?

Do both have to be GPS capable to transfer info from one to the other?

I am looking to buy both sometime this week.

OH YEAH who has the best prices?
Thanks in advance

the 27 and 520 should be able to be networked. have you looked on http://www.lowrance.com to see for yourself?

i think Lowrance just wants the serial number off your X-15. they are trash anyways. I have the color version (X-16ci)

Both those units can be networked to share one GPS antennae and one transducer.

I have looked a Lowrance's website and determined that they are networkable, but there is not enough info available there. I will just call them and have it explained to me. Thanks for the help

yes the can be net work together..they also can share waypoint data, as long you share the gps ant. betweent both units. you also can share other type data by using your nema net-work. but you must hook up the net-work between each unit. you can share sonar data, but you have to by ethernet work cord and update your unit to 2.1 software.

I have the LCX-15 on bow and console, and when I upgrade I will do the same, I like to have a big screen up front for consistency of picture and to show more information since I fish deep a lot. Try Tiger GPS or Three Rivers Marine on the net, Tiger GPS generally has the best prices but they seem to run out of stock a lot.

You can download the users manual off the lowrance website.

The manual gives you the wiring diagram for the network cables.

You can network both together. Just make sure that only the master unit has power to the NMEA2000 network and do not connect it on the slave unit. After you connect the LCX27 and run the network for the antennae and install the termination plugs, you should have one open line that you can send to the 520. From there you will have to manually program the 520 to receive the gps/sonar info from the 27.
