Fishing for Trout in Hurst Chisholm Park. Used Red and green Salmon egg bait with light rod and about 1/8 Weight. Nothing. Fished all around the park, and nothing =( Hows other people doing in that pond? Whats the secret??

Snag1337,

Don't know about that pond specifically, but a couple of things work very well for us on hatchery trout: 1) corn and 2) Velvetta cheese

On that particular pond, you just have to keep moving and find a pocket of them somewhere, usually by a big flat of water. I like using powerbait there because it floats and four pound test leader because the water can get incredibly clear there.

I tried it once and only once. The ducks were too much of a pain in the butt.

I've had good success at Waterloo in Denison with both a red salmon egg and a yellow nitro corn on a small hook at the same time suspened about 18 inches below a splitshot so they float up. Also "1/12th and 1/24th ounce super dupers in gold and silver. Cast them out count to 5 and then slow retrieve.

Chisholm park is a tough pond to fish. I have only caught 1 there and I have used everything from super dupers, powerbait (Pink, Orange and Chartreuse) and salmon eggs. The one I did catch was on powerbait.

Tough indeed!

1/16 white Rooster Tail has never let me down.
1/8 hasn't been too bad either.
Find where they're congregated and, like's been
said, let sink 4-5 sec's and retrieve.
Being able to work the bank quickly to find
the school is another good thing about the
inline spinners. See if you can tell where
they were released (maby tire tracks close to
waters edge) and they may not have gone far.
Once you find them, just stay after it.

How deep from the bobber to the weight to the hook should it be. I am taking the kids tomorrow morning to a freshly stock pond of 2k trout and would like them to catch some. Any tips?
