I'm thinking about picking up one of these B&M Telescopic rods. While at Cabelas, I saw 20'er and I think a 14'er maybe it was 13.

What length rod would you buy/do you have? Should I even consider the shorter lengths or should I just get the 20?

Are you talking about a rod (for use with a reel), or a pole (for catching crappie)?

Sorry, I should have specified. The pole, for crappie and panfish.

Although I would consider a rod, for use with a reel, if anybody has any recommendations.

The user reviews for this one are not so bad.

It gets tough dealing w/ a rod over 10'. 20' would only be good if you need the length.

I just have a 10' rod and some waders ;-) Good thing crappie aren't easy to scare in our murky waters.

You could sure get a 20' under a dock. I've seen some docks where there is not enough room to sling a jig under there. Just where do you put a reel on one of these thing?
