Do you cover the entire hook or leave the point exposed for a better hook-up? About how far do you set it from the weight? Thanks.........

Make a ball and cover the hook. Use like a #10 small hook. I take a split shot or two and put it 10-12" above the hook. Has worked fine for me.

I've always covered the hook completely up. After it sits in the water the bait will slowly wash off and expose the hook point anyway.

Carolina rigs work well. Small egg sinker swivel about 12 inches of line attached to the other end of the swivel, a small hook, #10-#6 aberdeen hooks always work for me. i mold the powerbait around the hook into a ball a little larger than the average pautzke's salmon egg. hope this helped if you need any clarification pm me

i have had great success covering the hook with a ball. hook set will pull it through.

or make a little cylinder and cover the shank and try that.

they will short strike some and are expert bait stealers....
