Looked like a great weekend off fishing! And the place wasn’t really super crowded like the stocked ponds get around here. I’m still excited to fish for the little stockers this year again.

I’m about to go pick up one of the 64 gig, class 10 sandisk memory cards that are on sale for $14 at walmart right now hopefully they aren’t crazy popular and sold out. Been wanting some more memory for my action camera I may get 2 of them lol.

After work yesterday I had decided to take a cheap 2 piece spinning setup with me and to stop on my way home and check out a small creek and see if I could catch a few bass. This is how that went down.

Indeed it was really clear! Crazy how hidden some of the bass were as it was pretty shallow as well in places. They literally came out of the wood work to eat my lure. Its funny I was there for like an hour and fished that whole creek with a worm that looks like a trick worm you can see it in the opening shot of the video and I never even saw a single bass. I was ready to head home and call it a day so I switched to a craw and first cast with it I got my line hung on a limb but the bait went in the water and that first bass I caught hit it so hard he set the hook on himself. With my polarized glasses I could easily see the other bass following him trying to steal the bait.

Nice video Fisherman13!

I haven't been doing too much fishing lately, but my father and myself did go up to the Lower Mountain Fork last week. We took a full day guided trip with Rob Woodruff and could not have been more please. Rob was awesome and knew where the fish were and what they wanted to eat. My dad and myself combined to catch somewhere between 40-50 rainbows (always nice when you catch so many fish you lose count). I caught almost all my fish on a fly I tied (a size 18 RS2) so that was really cool, with my dad catching fish on an RS2, soft hackle and leech streamer. If you are looking for a guide, I recommend giving Rob a call.

Anyway, here is a video of some of the fish.

Check it out for those planning to fish this trout stocking season in Texas. We do recommend checking TPWDs updates as schedules change due to weather, unexpected things, etc... in our case, we print out the document and pen and ink it with updates as the season progress. Spreadsheets are useful but still not as fun as fishing! PDF Post.

Thanks for doing this. Very helpful. Do you make the original Excel sheet available, as well? Would be nice if users could further sort by city/county to focus on stocking locations nearby. (I already did this on paper as there were about 20 stocking locations within an hour from me -- needed to put it all on a calendar!).

Thanks pavlaugh! The pdf version can be converted via adobe to a spreadsheet. The version of excel we have keeps failing when we load it to the server.

Found a way to post the spreadsheet version of the pdf file... details.

Rode to Waterloo Park with TFF member and buddy Reshelman to fish for the stocker trout. We had a blast. Also shout out to MckinneyLonghorn who tied up the Near Deer flies that I caught all my trout on this day. Here is the video.

Cold temps and stuck indoors but it's Friday! Been a while since posting on the fishing addiction series. Normally, we post videos but this round went with a "stickman comic" to illustrate Fishing Addiction #8 - "Selective Memory Syndrome"... Post.

Dude I love that stick figure pic! That is so funny. I doubt my wife would think its funny lol because I’m am so bad I make her text me anything cause I will forget it. She says if its not fishing related I probably would forget it! She is right of course, I tell her my brain is just fried at this point.

Thanks! Have another one in the works but sidetracked with a trip back to Waterloo. Limited out using Corn; got more uw video to edit. Made adjustments to the leader length; may get a better view this time plus the water was clearer than last time we went!
