Tried a pond that had not fished for a while; was pleasantly surprised to catch fish. Lots of fun, no Bruisers but still had fun! Video Post.

Had a nice day yesterday on the Paluxy. Caught five sunfish and a nice largemouth, while also missing another largemouth when I set the hook a bit early after seeing him strike the fly. Three of the fish came on a new crawfish fly I designed, while the other three came on a Llanolope popper. The highlight of the day was actually a fish I didn't land. I have cast at multiple carp over the past few years and never gotten one to pay any attention to my fly, let alone eat it. Well, yesterday I got a carp that was about 2 feet long to eat my crawfish fly, only to break him off on the hookset. Disappointing, but now I know I have a fly they'll eat, just need to work on landing them.

Fished another pond that had not fished for in awhile; only one Bluegill but missed a couple of nice ones that throw the hook on us after taking the Bluegill we just caught... Video Post.

Other than that the action was slow but did get to explore around and see what changes were made due to recent construction.

Back from Lake Murray this past weekend chasing smallmouth bass in the kayak. Had and awesome day on Saturday not so much on Sunday. We caught a bunch of smallies and some largemouth. Lost a few big smallies during the day and lost some opportunities for extra footage cause I tried to save some of memory space for Sunday which was kinda a waste. But I put together a little video to share of the trip.

Caught several Bass fishing a Frisco Commons Pond; even got some video of a Bass missing a "butterfly" hovering over the surface! Good to see fish can't catch them all either! Video Post.

Nice fshng84 I like that KDM fly. Also like that video of the bass jumping for that butterfly. I have seen them do that at Stoney Hollow trying to get the dragon flies. I fished from bank finally in Allen. Its been a little while. And fished the ponds over by sonic. Tried some new stuff. Here is the video.

I am excited to chase some trout this winter as well. I didn’t chase them as much as I would like last year. I had issues being off work, along with other fishing interest that came up. I plan to hit a few of the local stockings this year and maybe try some new stuff and even film some of the things I plan to do. Should be a good time.

I must say I finally figured out how to easily change the Thumbnail pics for my youtube videos. And I’m really happy to change a few of them as they are terrible. I downloaded the youtube studio app for my phone and it allows me to edit the thumbnail same as my computer but it is much easier to take a photo directly from my phone and its more of a task using the computer for some reason the files do not convert to the correct format or at least I don’t know how to do it and then resize them properly. I have been playing my video to a spot that I like. Then pause the video and take a good screen shot and then using that as my new thumbnail. Often times I have found the 3 thumbnails offered by default when uploading, are less than desirable lol. I’m not sure how they come up with them but the vary from meh to just terrible. On occasion I am ok with a thumbnail that is generated by youtube but not very often.

Sidetracked to the Blue River to fish the C&R section for trout. Trout are there, just none stayed on my hook long enough to land one. Did lots of walking and got a better idea of that section of the Blue. Posted in the Fly Fishing section... Went Fishing Thread.

Thanks Fisherman13! Only one fish in three trips but still had a great time.

Did post the three videos in a playlist in the latest iFishNews - October 31, 2017. This edition focuses on the Blue River which started trout stockings today. May be of interest to others in the DFW Metroplex itching for trout action while waiting for Texas' trout stockings! It's less than two hours away... or for those that know Choctaw Casino... about another 45" from there.
