Went out to Bethany Park in Allen this morning. Temperature was cold and the wind was blowing. Took a little while to find the trout. Me and a friend of my both limited out in @ 3hrs using 501 and 502 SuperDupers, silver and gold. Most fish were caught on gold.

Here is a link for the superdupers. (shows all sizes)

And some Pics to go with the report.

I was out from around two thirty to four. Lost my super duper but tried a spoon and red salmon eggs. Three days and not a bite

gut em and grill em

you can cut the heads off too.

i like to build a little steamer out of aluminum foil.... like a pup tent.

throw in a few pats of butter.... sprinkle with lemon pepper.

mmmmmmmm good.

maybe a little cayenne for those who dare.

hard to grill. they stick. unless you have one of those fish flippers.

i usually just do in oven.

they fry up nice too. but i think you waste the flavor

long casts are key.

watch the water. in the morning they might be sipping bugs off the surface. cast beyond and drag thru.

Gold Superdupers and Orange Powerbait were working this evening at Bethany. Limits taken by several. Not so for this fisherman. Slow in setting the hook this round.

Went back to Bethany Park in Allen today. Caught another limit of trout. This time it only took @ 45 mins. The key today was a steady retrieve and a 503 silver superduper, although one was caught on a 503 gold superduper.

Here are the five from today:

Made it well after dark when a fishing buddy and I arrived. Action was steady on Powerbait, taking a 5 Trout limit each in an hour. Best bet is to stick with Powerbait for now. Today's Catch

Checked out Waterloo Park in Denison and two of us limited out on Trout using Chartreuse Powerbait. Others were also limiting out using Orange as well as Pink Powerbait. Did get a few nibbles on Bread, else it was all Powerbait.
Today's Catch

Waterloo Park in Denison continues to produce with limits being taken by a number of fishermen. Chartreuse and Orange Powerbaits worked well today. Trout were hitting almost immediately after casting. Today's Catch

Decided to try Lake Lewisville Ecological Learning Area (LLELA). LLELA's Trout stocking are usually larger size Trout compared to the 9"-10" Stockers released in the local community lakes. Struck out but others connected with some Bruiser Trout and an 18 pound Catfish caught this morning. Today's Pictures.

Fished Bethany Lakes this evening for Trout. Caught three using Orange Powerbait and Bread. Missed another eight; too slow/fast in setting the hook or lost while landing them. Today's Pictures

Fishing buddy returned this morning to Bethany and mentioned it was a tough morning with no Trout caught. Cold and slow on the bite.

Opted to run up to the Blue River and checkout the area. Never been before and felt like a day trip to ring the New Year in.... Heard from others that the Trout fishing can be good to outstanding. Liked the area, will be back. Short Video Clip
