Does anybody know about Kaufman Lake (not the Kaufman City Lakes). Is the fishing good? Does it have public access? Thanks

My husband and I were wondering the same thing. Saw it on a map a few months ago.

Take 243 east out of Kaufman a mile or two, toward Canton. There's a little road on your left about a 1/2 mile past 2727. Its probably the same lake you're thinking of Marktx. Bear in mind my info is from a few years ago.....

yep thats it i used to live less then three minutes from there. the water is very very muddy. lots of catfish and some big ones in there and its actually a city lake, its the original city lake maintained by kaufman county and need a permit to fish it plus many people duck hunt out there as well. have heard years ago lots of big crappie and bass as well. ive caught some baby crappie out there but never any keeper size out of it. im sure the bigger ones are there its deeper then the one off of 34 just no cover really exzcept for the deeper water by the dam area. but again ive only fished it about 8-10 times if a person would drop some brush out there im sure then you could get some better results
