put the chip in, and just leave it in there. unless you take it out to use in another unit/or the NavPlanner.

Make sure your software version is up to date in the 520c. http://www.lowrance.com is where you download the updates.

Can you go back and forth to the Lowrance? From what I've read here you probably wouldn't want to anyway. Going to Welsh on Saturday,so hoping to try it out.

yes.. you just select map data in your menu. In my Lowrance X-16ci I go back and forth all the time. ALthough in that old dinosaur, I have the regular Navionics chip.

The Split screen is variable. You can split screen and make one side bigger than the other.

I normally have the GPS side a little bigger than the Sonar.
