Planning a fishing trip to Lake Fairfield. Needing to find a motel in the area near the lake. Was told about a "Sam's Motel". Does anyone know anything about it? Does anyone have a recommendation for another place to stay? It would be great if they have a place to plug in my battery charger.

Thanks.

Two new motels are just North of I-45 on Hwy. 84, they are across the road from each other one is a Days Inn or Best Western. The ones South of I-45 leave a lot to be desired, a whole lot.

The best Bar-B-Que is across the street from Gilberto's at Cole's. Thats two wonderful eating places across the street from each other.

The very finest pies&cakes are at Something Different, first cafe North of I-45 on Hwy 84.

Best instate redfishng is at Fairfield lake. Also good catfishing, Tilipa and bream are plentiful.

While everyone will rave about Sam's food (and I am one of them), try the Barn Stop.

When you are going our to the lake, you'll get to a fork in the road. There is a Citgo station called the barn Stop.

They start egg sandwiches at abnout 4:30 am

BEST burgers in town. Killer dinners too!
