I.m using a 1.5" for a little more casting wieght. I've got a gold one but want to get a chrome for thse sunny days. Wierd lure, but effective.

Yeah, we have golf courses. But don't hit the water hazards -- it spooks the fish.

I used to fish for trout a lot and as I recall I would go to a smaller trebble hook even on the smaller model. Another bait to try is the small Rebel Crickhopper in the green and orange the trout can not resist it. Be sure and change out the hooks on that bait as well because the ones that come with it are a little too big when going after trout.

Monte you mean the firetiger one? I thought it might be a good lure. But I didn't know if it was the right time of year to try it. I will pick one up when I go to the store. Thanks for sharing that one.

Yes I believe so. I already bought one. But I think I bought mine at Gander Mountain. (I have been there and BPS, so can't remember for sure...it is a common lure to find, you should have no problems acquiring one)

this bait is at academy
i believe it is 1/12th oz. cant remember.... i unbox them and lose them. LOL

fishes great right out of the box. hook is great and sharp. although it never hurts to hit it with a file if you know what you are doing.

i normally keep gold and silver. nothing special/fancy.
i catch as many as anyone else...

I used a gold Super Duper (1-1/4") at Fort Richardson Sunday morning. The fish (4-5 each cast) would chase and hit the bait, but I never hooked one. Should I change the hook? If so, what size?
Does this bait work best with or without a swivel? I was throwing it with a light action Ugly Stick and 6# line with a small (size 12) barrel snap swivel.

The crickhopper comes with a popper and it comes without one. I cannot remember the exact name. The original poster I thought meant the one that didn't have the popper. I didn't buy the popper one........sigh. Well when they reply we will know.

What is the proper or best way to rig/use the super duper lure and the crickethopper. This may be obvious to many, but my skills are somewhat lacking. THANKS!
