What teams are returning this year?

I know that Team Sweet has won enough CROWNS and retired but don't know if some of the members are interested in joining another team or not.

Team 2 Tuff has lost most of the players with myself and Flexpress still looking around and wondering what to do.

Speak up if your in this year or not so we can start planning .

Bob sure don't ...
we need a differnt conceptI think who ever is the cheif is... should choose some lake's...

and let team capt ... draw lakes from a hat... because everybody want's there onn lake so too speak...

or have differnt div like was brought up so to speak ..

like 5 diff lakes put 5 of the same who ever draw's the matching lake that the team your fishing aginst onn that lake ...It would stop all the b/s and maybe fun instead of fig out what lake who knows better or ???? or maybe even a 50 buck side pot ...

just thinking of away to keep it alive ... any thought's ...

Jody and I are the only one's onn team 2 tuff...

Donny you can be onn team 2 Tuff..or if you like or start a team up ...

I think a lot of people forgot that this is supposed to be for fun and not a serious trail. I miss the old days when it was just Sweeeet and Heeaat talking smack. The first year was great and there were never any issues picking lakes and what not.

Kevin you are right. One of the most fun things about this past year was that me and Stan went to a couple of lakes that we had never been on and instead of feeling like we were at a disadvantage and were going to loose the match we were excited about going to a new lake. We also felt like it made things a lot easier to just go to the lakes instead of hassling over where we were going to fish.
Last year I only fished the Matchplay the majority of the time so scheduling for me was not much of a deal. But this year I am getting back to fishing all of the club and Federation tournaments and me and the better half are thinking about fishing a couples trail so I have pretty much bowed out because it would be hard for me especially with working one Saturday a month also to have only a couple of days a month that I would be able to fish the Matchplay.
Scheduling is the main issue since so many of the guys fish so many tournaments.
One thing I would like to see encorporated is a month where you can try to schedule to bring in everyone on a team to fish against another whole team or even a tournament for everyone in the Matchplay to get together.

Lets get this thing started I had a little trouble last year. But I'm ready to start this again. So Kevin if you want to get a team started I sure will help you out.

If you guys can get together somewhere and hammer out the details, it can be changed to meet the situation too. Lower participation, well maybe we need smaller teams, or maybe fewer teams until everyone gets the other circuits out of thier blood.

When gas hits $3.50 a gallon, we'll see how many folks are still out there chasing the dream of fame and fortune! LOL Folks will never grow tired of a little low key home-grown competition (more for the fun of it, and bragging rights more than anything).

There are no hard fast rules unless you guys make them. Last year's rules can be changed (rules are like laws, they are the "Will of the People at a given point in time").

You need someone to take the money and someone to keep the score, other than that it's all on you guys.

In order to do that Tommy, I think you would need to start in the "off season" (June/July) and have 4-5 months with a championship in December. Although then you wold have hunting seasons to bounce around. Just my .02

Donny,
That is right. The only way to bring in everyone for a tournament would be to have some sort of schedule ahead of time and have a designated date for that tournament. Maybe the day before the championship like a Saturday for everyone and championship on Sunday. But as you know trying to work around dates with the large number of trails nowdays is impossible. Every time you turn around there is someone coming out with something interesting to fish. That is why I have been racking my brain trying to figure out how I could fish those Super Team events of yours.
Mike - We both know there has never been anything pretty about this face.

I had a blast fishing with all of yall this year but found it was pretty tough with all the scheduling going on.

I wonder how it would work if we had an individual matchplay... Basically the same concept as the teams but with only two anglers... one angler fishing against another angler instead of a squad. Each angler fishes out of thier own boat.

Scheduling should be a breeze that way. It could still be fun and a good way of meeting other folks on the board. May even get more involvement. Just ensure that there are still teams but each team member fishes against another team member for points instead of fishing against a squad. The individuals points are totaled for the year and there would be a team fishoff at the end of the year for the teams that had the most points and to make it a better deal have a 5 or 10 man fishoff for the individual points leaders so that even if they are on a so-so team if they are good they still have a chance at winning some cash.

IMHO the cash does not mean squat in matchplay. The fun of meeting people and the BSing going back and forth are what it is all about.

I had a heck of a time and learned so much from my matchplay partner this year and would miss that part of it (along with getting my azzz smoked on an individual basis since he was a fish finding machine) But if the team concept remained there would still be comraderie etc.

Regards

You know that's right! Sometimes I don't even try to find a comeback when Jack's online! I can't imagine Matchplay without that deranged soul popping off!

Not looking good here...
No teams have said whether they will be in or not. Scheduling a Meeting somewhere will do no good if no-one shows up...
There is also no need in picking a Leader if noone is going to play. I will do what I can. I work at a bank and have an account (non-interest bearing ,, sorry) that I can keep the money in if needed.

I will also help with the scheduling....

Team Sweet has announced several times that they will not be in it this year. So why is everyone scared to sign up?

Maybe it needs to be more personal:

Team Misfits Are ya'll in ?

Team HEEAAT Are ya'll in?

Team Xtreme Are ya'll in?

Tema Elite Are ya'll in?

Team Gravy Are ya'll in?

Team Richmond Fishing Are ya'll in?

Team 2 Tuff is in We just need to find about 3 more boats right now.
