very seldom but i wasn't referring to mcallen. the truck has been in twenty degree weather numerous times. what does the temp have to be anyway for the high idle to kick in?

My cousin has a '96 7.3 powerstroke, and he has never noticed this happening before...




on the other hand it wont start when the air temp is below 40 degrees.

mine has a tough time starting or it won't start when it drops below 50 degress unless it's plugged in

mine has a tough time starting or it won't start when it drops below 50 degress unless it's plugged in


my dads will start in 20 degree weather without pluged in. but yes it will turn over a few more times than when it is warm weather.

I have found that it doesn't matter how cold it is, With mine the secret is to keep it parked out of the wind. If the wind is blowing on it, then its a little cold natured. Still starts but doesn't wake up as easily.

If your talking about Dodge, I know more of them that are cold natured than I have ever seen Fords.

I just never plug it in, It always starts, just a little groggy in the morning.

Yea, I'm talking about the Ole Cummins

I have herd of people having issues with cold cranks, but out of the 4 I've had, I've never had a problem. I had a '95 model that I had the fuel turned up on, she would spit and sputter for about 5 seconds and blow a cloud of white somke, but that was due to the fuel dilevery. (being turned WAY up)

I guess I've just been lucky
