Boy--With the temp going up I thought I would go take a look-see on Hubbard and from the launch didnt look to bad so I headed out and went down the east side from Terry Ln ramp and didnt mark any fish so I had a great idea to go to the dam where I would be out of the wind. AS soon as I hit the south point from the ramp I look and see two big swells comming right at me( I bet 5') and the first one was OK but when I slid down the backside I took a nose dive right into the next one? Holly COW!!!!I never have had that much water come over the bow of a boat so needless to say I came home. Enough said!

Anytime you have 20mph and gusting, you need to be careful out there!! Been there and done that! No fun at all!!

RAY HUBBARD IS ONE OF THE WORST LAKES TO BE ON WHEN THE WIND IS UP. THE LAKE RUNS VIRTUALLY NORTH AND SOUTH AND THAT SEEMS TO BE HOW THE WIND IS ALWAYS BLOWING.

I'm glad you got out of that one Rick RH is a tough lake to fish in high winds. Now that I've said that, I'll be out in the morning with Varner If there is one thing that both Varner and I have in common, besides fishing, it's fishing in extreme weather \:D We were on CC last Friday when the wind was blowing 20 to 25 out of the north It was kind of like riding a bull with those huge swells. It kind of makes me feel like we're crab fisherman in the Bering Sea

Ya--JV--I think your nitro can handle more wind then my 19'bay
but its still not a good feeling when you see 2' of water over the top of your bow? I had six inches of water in the bottom and had to keep my feet up so I would not get wet!!
Hope you guys do good. Give a report back and if its good Ill see if JImbo will get his big kenner out and shake a few cob webs off and go fishing this weekend! Not sure? heard 25mph plus, Could get real nasty

Be glad you were in a CC, I've taken a few over the bow in my bass boat. It's not fun when you are sitting down right at water level, especially this time of year!

I may try to go out this weekend, depending on the wind. Good luck guys!

Ray Hubbard is Satan's Pond.

Been on that lake a few times - less than a dozen - and nearly every single time, I've been involved in drastically changing weather which resulted in 4' waves. Also nearly every single time, I've been running back to the ramp head first in to the wind.

I hate that lake.

RH is a great lake! Just watch the wind forecast before you head out. I've made the mistake of going out too many times now without checking. This time of year it is a must.

Now Tawakoni, on the other hand, is Satan's Pond!!!
