Gotcha!
I have confirmed that a "Good Day at Work is much Better than a Bad Day of Fishing!"
I should have known better with 15-20 MPH sustained Winds and higher Gusts, 48 degree Surface temp, and a pretty chilly 45 degree air temp when we started, but the Customers said "Let's Fish", so we did. Did about two hours of Fishin' and No Catchin'... so did the right thing, and called it quits!
Richland Chambers can get verrrry tough when the water temp drops in the 40's and it reminded me of that today. Last time we had 40's was February, 06 and I quit fishing for a couple of weeks. Last week with water temp in the low 50's was VERY GOOD with easy limits on Magnum Whites so maybe the next few days will warm it back up again. If not, think I'll leave it to the diehards. (We were the only boat on the Lake today)
If you do decide to fish RC and the temp is right, fish will be hugging the bottom on the Old 287 Roadbed and deep (30' plus) on the Windsock Point. Deadsticking or very little movement is required on your bait (Slab or Jig/Bass Asassin). I downsized to 8 lb. test and 1/2 oz. Slabs last week and it seemed to make a difference.
Good Luck and Good Fishin'!
