There is a point in the area park east of the first boat ramp, you may do well there.

Is that point at the very south end of the lake by the hot water discharge?

Ive never been there before so I can only go by the park map
that TPWD provide.

Thanks for the advice btw!

Throw a wacky rigged watermellon colored zoom fry on the point for black bass. Usually they are smallish but they will help pass the time and I have caught 100s there on several days.

I'm going to Fairfield Lake next month. This will be my first time on the lake. Sure would like to know what to expect on this lake. Any suggestions for fishing there in mid-February?

I understand there are lots of reeds on this lake, are they good this time of year or should I back off from them?

Dan,
I hate to say but about 90% of the reeds are out of the water now. If you can find some that have enough water on them (couple of spots) the fish will be there. By mid feb. there will be alot of spawning and post spawn fish so you can pick how you want to catch them.

There was a pretty thick bunch of reeds just down from where we were bank fishing, kept seeing boats pull up and work them but didnt see anything caught.

The park we were at was the first left hand turn/access to the water from the pay booth, had a very nice point there!
