Hey guys,

I need your help! My boat is currently a mess! It's a 17ft 1987 Ebbtide Dynatrak with a Johnson 88 special on the back. I can't even bear to look out back and see the sorry shape its in. I am planning on getting everything back in order by the end of February so I can get it back on the water before spring! Last year, my tilt/trim motor went out and I did alot of troubleshooting to make sure it was the motor. Replaced the 2 selonoids, hooked up the green/blue wires straight to the battery and get a faint whir sound but that's it. I believe the motor needs to be replaced. I took it out a few times after that and used the manual tilt but that is for the birds! My bilge pump stopped working sometime after that, I HOPE its just a fuse/wiring since it's located at the bottom of my hull behind the gas tank! I'm not sure I can get to it without taking out the tank. I also would like to get the annual routine maintenance done. (Lower unit oil, Spark plugs, water pump, wheel bearings packed, torque screw to all the bolts, etc..) My windshield also got broke into 3 one windy day so I would like to get that replaced. When it rains, it pours I guess... Anyways, what total cost am I looking at for all this work? I might just try and do it all myself if it's going to be too expensive, it's just hard to find the time with 4 kids, work and school going on. I don't know any good shops close to me that would be fair priced with a good reputation. I'll give a free guide trip to anyone who can help!

P.S. I'm a guide in my own mind! Sometimes I catch 'em, sometimes I don't!

Lakeview Marine is on the south side of 67. Never had any work done there. I have bought some parts from them. They are the only ones I know of in that area.

Not sure of Cedar Hill. But Rockwall Marine is as close to you as anybody is I think. Call them. As far as a windshield, unless there is a sticker with the name of the company on the windshield, it is going to be difficult in finding a replacement windshield for that boat due to the limited number made, and the year model.

Try D&B at 35e and Parkerville road. David works primarily on Mercs and Nissans but might help you on your "white motor". He has done all my service for many years.
