I got two good books for Christmas:
"A Personal Stand: Observations and Opinions of a Freethinking Roughneck" by Trace Adkins....Another C/W singer who really gets it.

And
"If Democrats had Brains, They'd be Republicans"...By Ann Coulter

Good lighthearted Reading if you are a Conservative....

She pulled a gun on him, he told her to put the gun down before he put it where the sun never shined, at which point she put a bullet through both lungs and his heart, and someone upstairs was watchin out for him, as he survived....He didn't testify against her, so she got off, and he got a divorce.

But it wasn't Bolded or Capitalized SO IT WASN"T A "TONE".....
And to make a long story short, Trace did/does have a bit of a drinkin problem, and that might have contributed to his getting shot....That said, according to his calculations, there have been about 5 times that he should have woke up dead but cheated the grim reaper.

Just another like thinking good ole boy....He makes some really good points. I can't say I agree with everything he says in the book, but then I don't march lock step with everything the current administration says either. That said, here is a guy that actually had a profession before he became a success in the C/W Music business. He was a roughneck for several years and a steamfitter as well, so he always had a trade to fall back on if it didn't work out. Anyway, like I said, it's good reading if you are of the conservative pursuasion.
