From Key Allegro, there is Little Bay. Never heard of it being much of a spot for trout though. You could drive down the coast a ways and put in at Palm Harbour, (small fee) then paddle across the ICW to Estes flats. Also some places north of you around Copano Bay worth checking out. Get this book...http://www.austinkayak.com/products/846/Wade-and-Kayak-Fishing-the-Coastal-Bend-of-Texas-by-Ray-Crawford.html It will tell you every possible launch site.

Estes flats and the back side of trailer island would be good bets for trout. Pay the fee at Plam Harbor you can fish the channels on the way there and back also...

Fished Rockport and Aransas Pass this past weekend and did not find much of anything other than rat reds coming off the flats on outgoing tide near South Bay and 12-14.5" trout near Copano bridge (Aransas Bay side). Many fish but only a couple of keepers. If I were you and the winds weren't too bad I would paddle straight out from the foot bridge (next to the Copano Bay bridge) until you are in 4 ft of water. Throw dark color plastic with yellow/chart. tail. You may have to compete with a few waders there.
On the right days you can also get good fish around the piers in Little Bay. Much closer to where you are staying.

Yes, the old bridge is now a state owned fishing pier. It has the middle section taken out so it does not span the whole bay anymore. The newer bridge runs parallel to it, all the way across Copano Bay.

Another place i have a lot of luck is by the light house. On the same bank as the light house, there is a long oyster bank, and I have caught a lot of reds and trout there (my wife took 2nd in a red fish tourny at that spot).

Along that ICW, there are a lot of little channels that go into the back bays and these work good during the tide changes also. Hard to get back up into the bays on the channels unless you have a kayak in your boat.

Good luck fishing and send some pictures
