We did some striper fishing up in AR over the holidays and had a blast. Here's a pic of the fish we caught the 1st day with guide Don Andreason (www.beaverfeverguides.com).

Big fish was only around 14, but I caught 3 over 10 on a 6'6" MH bass rod rigged with 20 lb test. The fish had pushed some bait back in a little cove near an old canyon. I also broke another off and had one wrap me around some timber while casting a swimbait. 2nd day we went we just couldn't get bit, but were around fish all day.

This is a beautiful lake with some BIG stripers.

Those are some serious stripers. Man, I need to leave the Sandies alone for a while and go chase some big boys. Great catch!

I guess I also set my personal best hybrid at 9.0 lbs. as well (although on 50 lb test, it wasn't much of a fight). Previous big boy was an 8 lber that I caught out of a school of largemouth in Lake Concordia, LA (thought I had the lake record largemouth).

We had to be rigged for big fish since that lake has a LOT of fish 20-40 lbs.

Haven't been to Beaver in many years, but we spent every summer there when I was young. Great lake for sure. Nice fish!

Nice pics and report. I have never caught a Striper, but plan to schedule a trip at some point.

nice fish, but you should go to lake ouachita, 14 pounds would have been your smallest fish
