I have a question for you. My brother in law is over seas in the middle east and they take R and R trips off shore fishing but all they provide is bread that you roll up. He asked me to get him some plastics and a couple lures to use but I have know idea where to start? ANy suggestions would be appreciated? Thank you as always

We need to know what size gear / Line weight they will be using.. baits need to match the tackle just like any other fishing.

The line size is 25lb Mono. I was thinking of sending him a spool of some better line. What would you suggest?

Power pro is hard to beat.. I know there are those that dont like it but I have had Zero Problems with mine.. well other than Broken Hooks. 65Lb is most common.

If you want some very good Mono.. Mamoi Sure Catch and Sufix Superior are the two I use for serious offshore fishing. 40 ought to get'er done.

3-5" squid skirts in any of the colors with a 1/8 - 3/4 oz eggsinker stuffed in them are deadly on just about everything. I have caught everything from speckled trout and snappers all the way to 100+ pound yellowfin tunas and blue marlin. Also the offshore vertical jigs and spoons always work. Just my .02

I am up in the Baghdad area but anyone that wants to see some pics of us doing some carp and asp fishing up here can check out the Iraq fishing pics at http://www.sharkfighter.com

I can't wait to get home in June and do some real fishing, as proud as I am to serve here I miss my family and salt water fishing.

like already been said. the squid skirt looking things. colors: green/yellow white/blue blue/black blue/white blue/green/yellow
pink/purple

edit: also can never go wrong with a 6-8" russell lure (don't know restrictions on shipping metal over there)
