Scott, believe it or not, a San Juan Worm. I was going after bull gills, I mean big blue gills, when this fish decided to bite. Lot's of fun on a 5 wt.

oh I believe it, san juan worms are well known for accidentally catching carp. Now that it is the new year I get to find out what my on call schedule for the year is and will holler at you one of these weekends

NOT FAIR!!!! You guys in Texas get to fish open water year round. Up here in Colorado, we gotta cut a hole in the lake just to get to the water this time of year. Then we freeze our begeebies off while we sit around and wait to catch a 10" trout.

Yeah, but the other times of the year must be killer. I love Colorado in the summer, and fall. never fished in the spring, maybe this is the year. Would love to be there on Fathers Day for the Salmon Fly Hatch!!!

can you still walk down river pretty easy,last time i was there i caught a few on the island at the bottom of the dam,i thought it lokked familiar.thanks

I've caught a couple of carp up here in Colo. on a San Juan Worm, but thought it was just an accident. I'll tell you what, they sure put up a better fight than the typical trout I catch!!!
