Is that a LM or a Kentucky ? It's hard tell but it looks like the mouth if it were closed wouldn't go past the eye. The reason I'm asking is I've caught them at G.vine that looked like LM but were actually spots. I think there's a way to tell by the dorsal fin but I don't remember how. It has that spot body style to it.
Good catch.

It was a largemouth. I released it in a local pond close to the house. I did not have the camera so I brought it home and the wife took the photo.

LOL I use to take the fish home and put them in a community fishing spot for the kids to go and fish. Until I saw A kid out there keeping the fish to eat them. he has a big stringer full of them. There were some 5 pounders in there and everything. He would tell me when I saw him down there that he was going to catch the 5 pounder and Mount It. I was like hmmm okay that is it for stocking this place. But it was pretty good spot when they were releasing the fish instead of keeping them. I could go there and catch a lot of fish and most of them between 2 and 3 pounds perfect for the kids in the neighborhood to have fun catching.

Where were you fishing? We put in around chin chappel and tootled around the duck areas... I threw a gold chatter bait into the brush in anywhere from 3 to 10 feet of water in the channels. No bites; cold, but nothing to show for it....

Way to go Scott, nice one. We need to get together and go soon. Make it after the Fish and Tackle show though, I am pretty tied up until that is over. Give me a call.

I caught all of the fish today on a blue fleck carolina jig with a plum zoom finesse worm, yes a Phoenix Blaze rod and a WaveCast reel. Tehy were all caught around the Sneaky Pete area!!!
