I was wondering about my next pair of fishing shoes. I like a tennis shoe type, my last pair was Cabelas country walkers, totally waterproof for over two years but theyre worn out now. Maybe I'll go with a new pair of the same but the break in period was quite a while with those. Any suggestions on a good waterproof shoe, for fishing in cold rain in january, as well as hot august days?

everlasts flats boots are good for center console boats because they have grip and you don't slip.

for a dual console bass boat I would sugget crocs. i know they are ugly, but they are very comfortable, water repelent, they breathe, and you have 62%less muscle fatigue in your legs over normal shoes.

flats boots also keep your feet warm and are completely waterproof. Very nice for those cold days.

I got a pair of Merrill water pro's for warm weather fishing. These can get wet and they drain quickly. Hikers uses these as they are very light. The following link has these on sale.

Andrew G and all,

You can fish in your crocs or sandles all year around. All you need is a pair of seal skinz. Waterproof, warm, and breathable. Try 'em and you won't regret it!

I just bought me some Gore-Tex shoes from HiTec at BPS. They are really comfortable and claim to be waterproof. I know their tactical boots that I wore when I was in the Army were comfortable.

Crocs suck!! They claim to be waterproof, but after about 4 days of fishing this past summer (while camping), my crocks stunk like a... well lets just say really bad. I thought I would let them air out for a few days, but no cigar.

I wear a rubber boot type shoe when it looks like rain and in the cold I usually have my old hunting boots, they are comfortable and very well broke in, also one can wear wool socks if it is too cold with them. In the summer I just wear my flops and then as soon as I start fishing I go bare footed. Just put sun screen on the feet as they will burn...lol I have found that with my bare foot it's easier to control the trolling motor....The hot deck doesn't bother my tough feet but my wife has a towel she will stand on. Her feet are sensitive to the heat. My carpet is a gray color and it does get a little warm.

Surge, I hate to be the one telling you this, but it's not the crocks that stink man, it's the foot fungus.
