I was wondering about my next pair of fishing shoes. I like a tennis shoe type, my last pair was Cabelas country walkers, totally waterproof for over two years but theyre worn out now. Maybe I'll go with a new pair of the same but the break in period was quite a while with those. Any suggestions on a good waterproof shoe, for fishing in cold rain in january, as well as hot august days?

everlasts flats boots are good for center console boats because they have grip and you don't slip.
for a dual console bass boat I would sugget crocs. i know they are ugly, but they are very comfortable, water repelent, they breathe, and you have 62%less muscle fatigue in your legs over normal shoes.

flats boots also keep your feet warm and are completely waterproof. Very nice for those cold days.

Andrew G and all,
You can fish in your crocs or sandles all year around. All you need is a pair of seal skinz. Waterproof, warm, and breathable. Try 'em and you won't regret it!

I just bought me some Gore-Tex shoes from HiTec at BPS. They are really comfortable and claim to be waterproof. I know their tactical boots that I wore when I was in the Army were comfortable.

Crocs suck!! They claim to be waterproof, but after about 4 days of fishing this past summer (while camping), my crocks stunk like a... well lets just say really bad. I thought I would let them air out for a few days, but no cigar.

I wear a rubber boot type shoe when it looks like rain and in the cold I usually have my old hunting boots, they are comfortable and very well broke in, also one can wear wool socks if it is too cold with them. In the summer I just wear my flops and then as soon as I start fishing I go bare footed. Just put sun screen on the feet as they will burn...lol I have found that with my bare foot it's easier to control the trolling motor....The hot deck doesn't bother my tough feet but my wife has a towel she will stand on. Her feet are sensitive to the heat. My carpet is a gray color and it does get a little warm.

I like my Keens. REI and Gander Mountain carry them. They are very comfortable and I wear them all the time. Keens makes waterproof shoes and sandals.
I also have the Northface goretex shoes mentioned above. Those are good too, but they seem to be flat with no real support. They are not my most comfortable shoes.
Another shoe to check out is Newbalance. They make very comfortable shoes. I wear my Newbalance zips in the summer. They breathe well and are extremely comfortable and light. I also wear zips for the gym. Very good shoes.

Muck Boots from http://www.MuckandStuff.com are the best Foul/ Cold Weather boots ever. Extremely comfortable, light weight and good grip lug soles. Look at their Fishing boots and 6" Jobber Work boots. I have the 12" Chore Boot and they are a bit too much unless it's below freezing. I wore them at Fork in a snow storm last April and my feet were sweating. Bazz

Crocs year around. Unless it is bad cold. For the summer I wear the regular open sandal type and in the winter I wear some lace up water proof Crocs.
I wear socks all the time, but if yours stink just throw them in the washing machine.
My feet always hurt me after standing and fishing all day, but not with Crocs.

have to agree...Crocs are the best. Crocs are the only footwear I can wear standing up on the boat all day fishing. I've had mine for several months, putting them through absolute hell and they just don't quit.
Doesn't matter what season it is, these things don't really come off my feet much.
My feet stink too but only because I'm on them all day and my feet sweat a lot. Best advice I can offer for that is to wear socks and spray some odor eaters or something in before you put your foot in the sock. The powders help to address the sweat and the smell.
I wear crocs because I like to jump off the boat some times for a quick cool off dip in the warmer months. Crocs slip off real easy and if they hit the water ...they float. They are water proof, breathable, comfortable, and I'm surprised no one has mentioned the fact that they actually float. So you can't loose them...unless you hit them with the prop. :-)
When on a boat, its good to have the important things float. Nothing like having to walk in the sticker grass and on searing pavement to get to the truck because your new pair of expensive Nike basketball shoes just became marine structure for shad. You do that ONE time and I promise you you'll have a pair of Crocs in the boat for backup from then on.

Crocs are UGLY!!! My feet fish naked. That way if I fall in, no big deal. Winter time I just wear some nice comfy shoes.

I wear New Balance in the summer and all other times. No better shoe for that. But during the Early Spring when it is rainy and cold, I want something to keep my feet dry and warm. I had a pair of New Balance waterproof shoes and they were just to bulky.

All the team logo crocs are half off at Acedemy in Plano. They had Texas, Texas Tech, A&M and cowboy ones.
Just picked me up a pair based on all the above recommendations.

I usually wear nike shox when the weather allows. Those are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I have about 6 pair, 2 pair are for nothing but fishing. When the weather is rainy and cold, I wear wolverine waterproof work boots. They are pretty comfortable also as they are made for being on your feet all day.
