Got my boat back from a winter updo and took it out today...sluggish out of the hole and wouldn't max out on top end. I ran it this way for maybe a total of 30 min. Brought it home and removed the cowling...and guess what? Mr. mechanic forgot to attach the #6 plug wire! Did running it like this hurt the engine??

no..it wont hurt it..(MAYBE) putting the cowling on they may have hooked the plug wire on the cowling latch pulling it loose. (just a possibility)

You can put a zip tie around the boot on plug wire...Keep this from happening ...When removeing cowl...

I accidentally ran my V-Max 200 with a disconnected plug wire on several trips, didn't hurt a thing.

general rule, if you need to spin the engine with plug wires unhooked (like for a compression test) you want to ground 'em to the block or use the mergency lanyard to disable ignition - 90,000+ volts with nowhere to go can possibly mess up your ignition components.......but no harm/no foul - you'd know by now if any damage was done.
