Planning on heading to Amon Carter next weekend. I have never been there and would greatly appreciate any advice. Thank you in advance.

jigs!!!!! slow as possible and even slower, i would fish the old lake, water is usually dirtier, and will warm up faster. a suspeding crankbait at the tunneland and the old dam might get a bite also, but probably should stick with the jig, black/blue with pork trailer to match. have not fished that lake with shakey head jigs yet, they should also work, stay with green colors. good luck

Thanks for the information. Anyone else like to chime in?

Lock your truck and hide your valuables while parked at the ramp.

That's not really what I like to hear, but that could be the most valuable piece of information.

Its been a while since I have been to Amon Carter but I recently spoke with a TPW fisheries employee that told me they are hardly seeing any decent sized fish in their yearly shockings out there. Kinda surprising as I remember that lake used to have some toads in it. In the mid 90's it was a very popular lake.
