John, the crappie and black bass bite is on in the slips right now. Try shooting some docks around silverlake and scott's landing. I caught a 4 lb bass last week on a white/chartreuse/orange crappie jig!

Lol....

How well are the Crappie biting, and can you fish the docks w/o a boat? I don't have access to my boat right now

Hey South Padre Bum started it. I'm a Steeler fan...born and raised in the Steel City.

As far as the crappy biting, I have a slip down at Silverlake Marina. You can definitely fish the slips without a boat if you just wait a little and have someone let you in! There are always people down there so you can get in pretty easy most days. The Crappie bite has been on the last couple of weeks there and surprising they are all around 10 to 12 feet right now.

I have gotten the best numbers on minnows, but the biggest ones have come on jigs.
