Is it possible to view a Navionics map card on my PC ?? If so, how do I do it ?? I have tried and keep getting an error message telling me that Word cannot open this file because they don't know what program created it.

A: Please note that Navionics charts are NOT PC compatible in just any card reader and are NOT formatted to be read on a PC (as the files are not PC compatible files). You may corrupt the files on your chart by placing it in a card reader and trying to open it on your PC without the proper software and card reader. There are card readers and software programs that will read a Navionics chart on a PC. 1. Yes, but you have to buy a program and a card reader. Iwent through this myslef. I picked on up on ebay for $110. It is really a nice thing to have since you can do a lot of searching on a bigger screen. You can set waypoints then save back to a seperate SD card like your camera uses. These can then be loaded onto the unit in your boat. You can also capture the map like a photo on your computer and print it out.
