Was wondering if anyone has used the new facilities at Hamm's Creek? From what I understand, they were going to be putting up a guard shack and beef up security around there, as well as bring the ramps out into the main river. I heard some bad stories about thieves and creeps out there in the past, but I am hoping they have washed out the problems after they spent all the money fixing the place up. Was thinking about checking it out, but wanted to hear from anyone who has used the new place.

THE RAMP IS EXCELLENT. THE GUARD SHACK ETC. DOESNT LOOK LIKE IT WILL BE READY TILL NEXT YEAR. SAME FOR THE CAMPING SPOTS THEY ARE WORKING ON.WENT TO CHECK IT OUT TWO WEEKS AGO.

WENT UP RIVER ALMOST TO THE ISLAND. WAS THE ONLY ONE AT THE RAMP AND ON THE RIVER AT THE TIME. DID NOT CATCH ANYTHING. BUT SURE WAS NICE AND PEACEFUL. BEATS SITTING AROUND THE HOUSE. BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE I HAD BEEN THERE. MAINLY SCOUTING FOR THE SAND BASS RUN. LOOKS LIKE IT WILL REALLY BE NICE WHEN THEY FINISH THE IMPROVEMENTS.

Let's hope the golden algae doesn't hit again.

It will be interesting to see if the flood helps the winter golden algae problem that normally gets going in January. There were still a few trashed campers and docks along the banks last time I was out.

a guy i work with said when the weather warms up there are a lot of skiers that go there. going today to check it out again.just for something to do.

With Cedar Bluff gone being able to launch at Hamm will ooen up the riverthis spring. Is it a new ramp on the river or the old one up in Hamm reworked ? Can you get up to Spring creek from Hamm or is the river too low ? May go down there this afternoon and check it out. Getting cabin fever with this weather as it is. will report what I find this evening.

so whats the good word? i too am wondering if i can make it up river. the past 2 years you couldnt get past cedar bluff with a bass boat.

Didn't make it to Hamm Creek the other day,will try again this week.

fished tin top for a little bit yesterday. the water was tea-like in color. found a few clusters of fish on the graph but no takers. looks like we will know here real soon whether or not the GA will strike again.

It's supposed to be nic this WE. Eddie, I hope you can get us a report.
