Had the pleasure of fishing with Chuck Dewey again this friday at Calaveras, as luck would have it he bested one of his good buds Mark Mason for the Water Body record channel cat at calaveras with a beautiful 6.2 pd channel cat going 25 inches. Not known for an abudance of larger channels, this was an exceptional channel cat coming from Calaveras and ol' Chuck played her pretty on the light tackle. Always a blast Chuck and congrats on the catch! We cut the trip short once we caught her to get it certified but still had 21 in the box for the morning. All fish caught on Danny Kings fishing 3-6 ft of water. Fish was released to be caught again. Braunig Saturday 22nd Gale force winds kept us limited to areas we could fish. Fished Best bud Eric Sadler's family for an X Mas gift. Fished form 9-1200 before we had enough of the wind. Managed 26 good sized cats up to 6 pds fishing shallow. All fish on Danny Kings. Heck of time and enjoyed watching "uncle dave" catch his first kitty ever. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone. With the year winding down, it has been an awesome year. We have set and broken 4 water body records, Caught over 4,526 fish this year and shared alot of laughs and high fives. I feel truly blessed to have helped and particpated in each one of the outings and thank all of ya who have helped make it possible. Thanks again Cliff Hill

Fished with Uncle Jess today at Braunig. Had a rogu time out there with the winds. Just couldn't stay put about anywhere. Was a true pleasure getting to meet ya Jess and we got another day of fishing coming soon. Off the lake by 1030am with that strong NE wind that rocked too much for our likings. Left Braunig with 3 good channels before we got blown off...:) Seriously. thanks Jess and I had good time and looking forward to the next time but wihtout the adventure portion of the trip. CLiff

Braunig 12/27 Chuck Dewey joined me this morning around 1000am. Complete 180 from yesterday, nice SSE wind 10-12 mph and fish jumping in the boat. Awesome day on the water. Fished for about 2.5 hrs before calling it quits with Chuck's limit and some for me for a fry this weekend. Fish up to 5.8 lbs fishing Danny Kings under a slip bobber in about 3 ft of water. Ran into Big Marv & Unlce Jess and we exhanged laughs, they got into some fish as well. Beautiful day in South Texas!! Have some openings between now and the 10th of January for those interesred, fishing is hot as long as 30 mph N/winds lay....lol. Thanks Chuck and enjoyed it as always!

Braunig 12/28 Rick (SA,TX) and Chris (Glendale,Arizona) fished with me this afternoon. Started off slow with 3 fish but a couple of moves later on we were on some quality fish. Finished the day with a nice 50 fish limit ranging from 3 -6.5 lbs. Quality of fish today was superb and fishing was excellent. Had a boat record 6 "doubles" today...fun all around. All fish were caught in 4-6 ft of water with danny kings. What started slow ended with a bang. Thanks Gents! One double Ran into Big Marv as well. Had a good time fishing along side of Marv and his family. What a day!

Well, I'm pathetically broke after spending unGodly amounts of money on Christmas as well as lots of gas to get to work. I worked a lot of hours through the holidays, so my paycheck in two weeks will be sweet enough to get me back out on the lake. Weather should be nice this weekend, so good luck! See ya'll on the lake in two weeks!

If you caught all of those yesterday, that would explain all of the carcasses at the table today at 1pm. I guess they have decided not to clean the buckets again. When I pulled up to the table today, there must have been 30 buzzards all around them. Fish heads were everywhere.
Great job Cliff. I guess I need to book a trip with you to learn your secret.

I got skunked at Calaveras today but I was only able to stay out a couple of hours. I may have to go out with Cliff sometime to figure out what I'm doing wrong. I just can't catch cats consistently. I don't usually fish Calaveras on the weekends but the lake was very busy today. That probably didn't help catch any fish.

I'm telling ya! Cliff is a class act and it's the way to go if you want to know how to attack the lake. PLUG, PLUG, PLUG!! I think he has some special winter rates going on right now, but don't quote me. Even paying full price is well worth it. Check out my myspace page in my profile and take a look at the toads I have pulled out. Hit me up privately, if you want to hear a first hand account of my experiences with Cliff. Steven

Buck, depth varies but I try to stay shallow most of the year if I can ( about 6 ft or less). Slip bobberin' is pretty easy to pick up on and the beauty of it is you can fish any depth desired by simply sliding the knot to the desired depth you want to fish, I tend to like it suspended off the bottom. MIke, I saw you out at Braunig Saturday and yelled at ya at the cleaning station as we were pulling in. We were having a rough day at calaveras and I made the move to Braunig in hopes of putting clients on some fish. Saturday 12/29 Fished with The Wells of SA, Tx today. Rough day, beautiful weather, rough fishing. Still had a blast with the boys ;watching them fish. Fished both Lakes today for about 7 hrs total with 8 fish for our efforts. We fsihed hard all day deep and shallow but them fish had lock jaw. The boys are planning to come back out soon to get another shot at Mr. Whiskers'. Rough day but the smiles at the end made it defifentely worthwhile. Calaveras 12/31 Fished with Family from WI from 2-430. Fishin' pretty darn good and the bite was steady. Ended with 50 fish for our New Year's fish Fry. Good fishin' and good eatin! Nathan caught most of them and pulled some good fish outta some new "mudholes" Have some openings between now the 10th for those interested. Thanks Cliff

Jan 4,5,6th Calaveras & Braunig Friday fished with Chuck Dewey at Calaveras ...fishing was steady then got hot as the day went on. Ending up catchign 25 fish limit fishing shallow with Danny Kings. Had alot of fun as always Chuck! Saturday Braunig Fished with Mr. John Levi of SA ,Tx. Started around 1000am with the heavy fog and went from there. Fishing was slow. Only a handful of places we had bites after fishing most of the morning. Went back to those areas and decided to take the occasional bite over nada. Ended up with 15 good sized channels by 330 before calling it a day. Had a great listening to Mr. Levi's expierences in SE Asia during the 60's. Pretty darn good day but had to work hard for our fish! Calaveras Sunday Fished with Albert Smith, Katie and Del of Floresville,Tx. Fishing was steady in the morning then the wind got really outta control up to 25-30mph. Ended up "calling it" with a few fish in the box to return next week and give it a try again. Just too rough out there, but it didn't hurt their spirits and we got a little more adventure than we bargained for. Hopefully, this week will cooperate. Ran into StikSHooter and SOuthern boy on different days. Was good to see yall out and thanks as always! Cliff
