for shark fishing the mono size i've had the best luck w/ is 20lbs ande or diamond. whats important is a long wire leader and a good circle hook. in florida i had luck w/ cut ladyfish and jack.

well i already have it spooled with 50# berkley and 50# powerpro braid underneath, with the 6/0 this gives me about 70yds of line..........plenty to fight a good 6'-7' blacktip or bull

Catfish, have you been out yet with that Rig? Cause I have to live vicariously through your fishing reports for the next five months. Any pics?

If your going in a boat you can use smaller line but if you are fishing in the surf you will need really heavy line. The 50# is OK but you need a 100 # topshot and a 480# mono/400# steel leader.

i hope you dont plan on casting that setup. if you do, i wish you the best of luck. takes a man with very large hands to fast a 6/0, especially with that short of a rod.
