raidergrad,
The workings of the Matchplay are pretty simple. The schedule comes out at the first of the year and you see which team you are to fish against for each month. Then you contact that team and decide on a lake and date and fishing times for the match. You meet, fish and then send in the results of the match and at the end of the year the two top teams fish for the championship.
The best things about the format are meeting some great people and fishing different lakes. This year I had the opportunity to fish Lake Graham and Holbrook for the first time. Jim even put us up at his house for the night before our Graham tournament and we had a blast. We also met Jody and Steve for dinner before our Holbrook night tournament which was great. And then to meet Les Kennedy for our match on Richland Chambers and talk to him about his upcoming trip to Lake Toho in Florida for the Federation National tournament was great. We also had matches on Richland Chambers, Cedar Creek & Ray Hubbard so most of the year we didn't have to go very far for our matches.
And of course being lucky enough to be in a second championship and winning was great but it was also fun just meeting some more of the guys involved in the Matchplay.
