I'm still getting experience on my little pontoon. Wondering if I could use it in the surf to carry bait out further than I can cast? I know there is usually some pretty good waves and wind. Last time I was at Galveston the wind was blowing on shore so getting out might be tough but would get blown ashore if I got into trouble. Wondering about the effect of salt water on the pontoons covers. I know the salt is not good for the metal parts but a good rinsing with fresh water ought to take care of that. So am I brave enough to try it or pretty stupid for considering it?
