I've had some I really liked and some just okay. I got a little carried away with the marinade on some and the taste was a little overpowering.

Any way you fix it...it's still turkey and yes I would prefer a good steak!

Have had fried turkey twice.

First time a guy at work fried one for me. He used cajun injection and it wasn't that good.

My BIL fried on a few years ago using garlic/butter injection. It was pretty good, but I'll take a smoked turkey anyday...

I like fried turkey better than smoked turkey myself. However, give me a good steak any day over turkey. Especially come about saturday when I will be so tired of eating leftovers.

Sometimes I think frying turkeys was invented by the women to get all the men out of the kitchen and out in the yard. Highly overrated, in my opinion. Give me a good smoked turkey or, better still, a good steak any day.

Yep, the deep fried turkey cook is easy to sniff out at the dinner table...we ordered a Greenberg smoked turkey this year and we're still eating on it....

I prefer baked turkey in the oven with stuffing inside like my mother used to make. The wife talked up into frying turkeys years ago and this year I told her that it was way too expensive to buy all the stuff you need to fry one up. What amazed me was that the fried turkey was the first to be eaten. Never had any left. This years baked turkey we had plenty left.

I think most of us really don't like the taste of a (baked)turkey because it tastes like turkey! Nor do we like the taste of "fishy tasting" fish! Heck, change the taste...fry the fish and smoke the turkeys!

Fried turkey for me over smoked and I won't go near an oven baked turkey ever again. But a good marinated Ribeye steak or some fried Crappie will win over all of the above. .02 cents!

I like a fried turkey just fine. Baked and smoked as well. Still, it is not fair to compare it to a nice ribeye. No contest. Guees that's why we cook a turkey only once a year around here and never go more than a week or two without a steak.

I love fried turkey. I take one every year to the inlaws. The fried turkey is the first to go. Everyone gets leftovers of the baked one. I will take a steak over turkey anytime!

I like it O.K. but I do not like it so much that I would put up with all the mess and cleanup.

If it were a lot better....then maybe. It's not THAT much better than oven roasted, IMO.

I like fried turkey much better than smoked. I don't care whose it is, smoked turkey is just too dry for me.

I prefer baked. I like the stuffing from the bird, and I make a killer home-made gravy from the drippings!!!!!! Can't get gravy from fried turkeys.

Garlic and Turkey supposed to be a no no. At least that's what I was told.

If you are going to fix Turkey I would rather have it fried rather than baked...howsomeever, a good 7-10 pound Standing Rib Roast gets my vote for the best Holiday meal hands down. Doing one this Christmas and probably a Spiral sliced Ham for New Years.

Didnt see this till today but here's what we've been doing in my neighborhood the last several years. One guys has the equipment, burner and heavy duty homemade pot. Very heavy, beats cheap thin alum or SS any day. Everyone brings one gallon of oil and a bottle of wine. Everyone has their turkey seasoned to their liking. We usually end up with about 5 turkeys to cook. We start cooking in order of when people need to serve theirs. All enjoy a little wine, some have more, the cook has less (hot oil and wine dont mix...). Help to share the oil cost and the wine helps the conversation. Next year, gonna start a new tradition... gonna throw a small bird in first so we have a "pickin' bird to nibble on with the wine... Do i really have to wait till next year?
