I have a week off in January and wanted to know if the fish are still biting in the Aransas Pass area that time of the year. Any info would be appriciated.

Yeah they are biting, but storms, and rough water conditions are always a problem. Late January is when I start gear up for coastal fishing.

If you monitor the sea's and pick your days wisely I bet you could also go offshore and get in a whole mess of Hoo's.

How about fishing the bays in kayaks?

That bays were not so great last year because of storms and such. This year should be outstanding.

Fall and Winter fishing have been pretty hot since most of the bays were washed out by the freshwater influx from early summer.

Shoot for late January tho'
