Another vote for Rudy's, horrible will not go back.

Favorite at the moment is Randy Whites in Frisco.

Very disappointed to hear this Bryant. Was this the Rudy's at Frisco? My sister ate there the other day and said it was terrible. I had high-hopes for the place since the original Rudy's in Leon Springs has always been one of the better BBQ's in Texas in my book. And the one time I had some from their Round Rock location it was excellent also. Looks like the corporation...or franchise, or whatever has some issues!

i've tried rudys in frisco twice, both times I went throught the drive thru, the brisket was full of fat, both times. the last time I got 1 lb. and a quarter of it was fat, big chunks. I wanted to go back and raise he ll, but I was to tired to get back out. I'm done with rudys.

The Rudy's in Leon Springs has taken a complete dive over the last year and a half or so...sorry to say. I think they just got too big and forgot about quality.my .02

Rudy's in Frisco SUCKS!!!!
I've eaten at the one on 35? outside of
Austin 20 times always excellent.
Used to take a pound to go, after
I ate inside.
Ate at Frisco, bought ribs to take
home to my wife to show her what
she was missing. I got laughed at!
My wifes a cook, she thru away the
nasty, fat laden ribs.
Went to the store bought a brisket
and outdid Rudy's 10 to 1.

Another vote for Rudy's........its typical of a place that has good food and then start opening up other locations and they all wind up terrible.

I had some crazy BBQ in Jamaica at the Jack Tar on Montego Bay. The resort had a few hundred Texans there that week and on Friday night, we had "Texas BBQ"..

I was really pumped up about it during the day and saved my appetite..Well, it was goat and it was covered in I guess jerk sauce of some kind. They also had fried plantains..Not Texas BBQ. I ate one plate and had a shock to my system. You know after you eat something and then realized you shouldn't have??

It got in my way of getting drunk for that one night.

Kirby House BBQ outside of Kirby, AR. Tried it once, was awful, then it shut down between that summer and the following spring.

Ranch Hand in Terrell, Parents passed it to the kids, and it started to go down hill some. Then the kids sold it to some others and it really bites now. Even if the BBQ was so so, they have had 100's of celebrity pictures and such to look at, and now thats been removed.

Eddie Dean catering is by far the Best in Terrell. We have a new place that opened up. Red River BBQ down on east 80, they have the OU and UT logo up. Haven't tried it yet, have went and stopped twice and they weren't open at those times.

Yeah , I've been wanting to try Red River BBQ, but I'm kind of afraid to try new restaurants, especially in Terrell.
Eddie Deen used to own Ranch Hand. The way I hear it is that he sold it last summer. I agree with you that Eddie Deen cooks some really good Q.
You ever tried any of Daves ribs?, he has the gas station just south of the tracks on 34. They're great if they're fresh, but he'll keep putting 'em out till they sell, no matter how long it takes.

Sonny Bryant's is terrible! When Sonny was alive, and they had ONLY one location, it was good. As soon as he died, they took his name, expanded and everything went to hell!

Spring Creek in Dallas was good when they had ONE location too! The last time I was in Spring Creek, the sausage was worse than a can of Vienna sausages!

Back Country in Dallas is good and Dickey's will do in a pinch!

Bubba's BBQ near Ennis. I was pumped for it after seeing all the billboards on the way back from Houston (I-45). Their relish and sauce bar had Pico De Gallo on it? They had a sign on their menu that said "No sharing". I guess they are going to tell my six year old daughter that and it is going to be hard to in force if you are in a drive through! Food was suspect also.

The ALL TIME WORST EXCUSE for barbecue was a joint on the Drag in Austin, so bad i can't even remember the name of it, but it was the worst brisket on earth!!! Dry beyond comprehension, and totally tasteless! Some kind of sauce that no beef eating barbecue lovin' person would ever dream of putting on bbq,

I wish i could remember the name! Was driving through Austin on either memorial or labor day, and all the good places were closed(it was late) and basically this was the only place that was open.

BAD, REALLY,REALLY REALLY BAD!!!

Didn't know you couldn't say cr@p on here. OK. I'll say something nice to make up for my potty mouth.

Best BBQ Joints in order:
Kreuz Market in Lockhart
Bodacious (any and all of the 8 or more locations in Northeast Texas)
Salt Lick in Driftwood
Country Tavern (Kilgore) ribs only

All time worst:
Fushak's in San Marcos, hands down the worst stuff I've ever had and I have probably had BBQ in 250 different joints scattered across the state.
