Just got my new Lowrence H20c today in the mail and have been going over it like a book. Does anyone have one of these that can offer any advise once I get out on the water (or even before). I sure looked at a bunch of these before deciding on this one. It should compliment my Lowrence X70A on my boat.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Mine's not color, but it sure does use batteries. About 6-8 hours per pair. Maybe that's good, but sure does seem to run down right when it shouldn't. Mine won't save new waypoints once the "Battery Low" light comes on.
I'm sure you'll enjoy the heck outta that gps. It's a good'un!
Have fun

oh yeah, mark your launching point first in case of foul weather or something unforseen.

Chuck--Go to the Lowrance web site and download some of the Free Enhanced Lake Maps. They have most Texas lakes. They are not as detailed as the Navionics, but the price is right.

I keep my H2O on the console and run it with external power (cig lighter) cable. Still uses batteries. If you power up on external power and it turns off immediately, it means batteries are low---at least on my H2O it does.

I have the H20C and love it. I bought the mape create 7 and have a chip for fresh water and 1 for the coast. I use external power and carry 2 sets of spare batteries.
