I know the piers will be in winter hours pretty soon. Do they close the entire pier or is it just the bait shops on the pier?

Galveston Fishing Pier closes the whole pier after dark . On friday and sat . they will stay open 24 hours if their is enough people on the pier . Their phone #1-409-744-2273

It was as of the weekend of 11/15 thru 11/18--fished all night 2 of 3 nights. Good luck & have a blast--we did!

San luis pass fishing pier...just rebuilt.has their own website,and forum.plenty of pictures of fish.

The San Luis Pass pier is closed. It sustained damage, and will re-open later. (they had storm damage)

on the flagship pier how far is it from the floor of the pier to the water.....kinda wondering how long a net i might need

make sure you bring a hoop net (you can rent one from the owners for $3). I made the mistake of not doing this and lost 2 good size red fish, and a couple of big sting rays, the first night I was there (nov27). As far as keepers I did catch black drum, whiting, and croaker. I did bring a regular net with a 6ft handle and it was not long enough to reach the water.

about how far would you say it might be,i also have a gaff for really big reds or big fish....i still havent used my tag lol....but i live in dallas i need to know how long to make it....

depends on where you are, from 10 or so feet on the end, to 18 or 20 from the top deck.
