Yeah I did get a bad reception here about a year ago but it was only from a few people and in fairness in a way I didn't blame them - I was offering a free download from another country and it could have easily been a virus / spam or whatever. Anyway, I'm so glad that some of you like my game!

Is the lake in 3DCARP2 going to be a real lake like in 3DCARP? Are there going to be hair rigs?

3DCARP2 will include 9 lakes - but none of them are real. The game will include hair rigs - but actualy although my first game doesn't specify the use of them, they are used for all suitable baits.

In the new version you can use : Fixed lead, running lead, method feeder, swim feeder, surface controller, float, and feeline. You can choose between many tackle types (hook size/type, float type, lead type, line strenth/type etc etc. You can also use lead-core, rig tube, tungsten putty and many other bits and pieces. There is a huge selection of bait and the game now includes a spod rod and a marker rod.

Will all these choices actually make a difference in the success one has while playing the game? It might be fun to visually assemble different rigs in the game, but that's just eye-candy if it has nothing to do with one's catch rate.

sounds fun either way. Heck in real life we use more and more complicated rigs to catch LESS fish!

Yes - all the choices you make will make a difference. I have used my own knowledge of Carp fishing and that of many friends to try to make the game as realistic as possible. A simple example would be - if you use a barbless hook you will have a slightly higher chance of hooking a fish (due to the improved penetration) BUT you will aslo have a higher chance of loosing the fish whilst playing it. Another example would be - when using a fixed lead a heavy lead is more likely to produce a take but will spook fish more than a lighter one.

Will there be some combinations of rigs and baits that are always better than others, or will the ones that work the best during a particular session depend on other factors like water quality, fishing pressure, time of day, season of the year, etc? For example, will certain rigs and baits shine in spring, while others work better in fall?

In a way yes - but at this stage the game does not include seasons. It does have varying weather and also some rigs will work better in certain lakes. If I have time I will include seasons. Already included is time of day.

Dustin, are you sure it wasn't a smallmouth buffalo that you caught in that game?
