The pointer on my Lowrance 480 has a question mark on it. What does that mean?

It means that your GPS Module is not responding...or your not picking up a signal.

Is anything blocking the signal...like a tree, house, etc.?

No boat was in open water. I guess I'll check for loose connections. I swapped out a new antenna and things didn't change. I'll get under console tommorrow.

I would check to make sure the power to the NMEA network is still good and if you have an inline fuse, check that first. If you piggy backed the power supply to your unit power, try seperating them. Also, if your antenna (LGC-2000) is to close to the unit, the unit will interfere with the signal. And yes, upload the most current update for your unit. If you do a hard reset, it may delete all of your waypoints, so make sure to back them up on a card. Good luck!
